Charismatic Vision and Mission
The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians known by the name of Salesians Sisters of St. John Bosco, founded by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Dominic Mazzarello, are women consecrated to God in the service of Youth, especially impoverished youths.
Inspired by the Salesian charism, their educational purpose is the integral growth of the person, the support of young people on their journey of maturation, Christian formation and education towards an active and solidarity citizenship, in the style of the Preventive System of Don Bosco.
Working alongside young people without discrimination of sex, culture and religion, the FMA present in many countries make the education of girls and young women a priority. Their activities are varied: cultural formation, evangelization, integration into the world of work, promotion of women’s cooperatives in missions, rehabilitation of young victims of prostitution and human trafficking, guiding them to fight for their dignity and the development of a culture inspired by Christian humanism.
Here are some of the works of the FMA in the world: The Oratory-Youth Center, Schools and Vocational Training Centers, Institutions of Higher Studies, works for children, adolescents, young people in danger, Centers of Spirituality, the Centers for the Promotion of Women, the Association for International Volunteering Women, Education, Development (VIDES), the Office of Human Rights (in Switzerland)
